A few clubs that I've started submitting stuff to that everyone should at least give a glance to... these two clubs hold some great images of non-conventional, often experimental photography:

1) Check out High Dynamic Range stuff here: [link]

2) And Infrared stuff here: [link]

Thanks!

Hah, you know what's great? I'm pretty sure we both are using the same technique, but you're just doing it slightly differently. I shoot HDR (and just in case I was wrong about us both using it), which is a 32-bit image composed of 3+ photographs varying in exposure. This allows the composite image to be totally properly exposed.

With Bloodlust, I took 7 images. The color was what I got out of the camera, and is thanks to the basement that I took the picture in. The gritty grain is a by-product of me sharpening the HELL out of the picture in Photomatix (the program I use).

In addition, I also made alternate layers for most of my body - pants, guns - face - torso, and adjusted the overall levels and colors of all of them. I then blurred the background a bit, and voila.
